How to change your business address – Limited Liability Company or Business Name

December 15, 2021

To change the address of your business name or limited liability company, your business should have filed up to date Annual Returns with the corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

A company would during a meeting pass a resolution for the Address of the company to be changed. After the resolution is passed, an application for change of Address would be made on the CAC post-incorporation portal by an accredited agent by completed the required form. The resolution would be uploaded and the completed application Form must be authenticated by a director of the company. As soon as the change of Address application is approved, a status report f the company would be provided by the CAC showing the new address of the company.

A business name does not need a resolution before the change of Address can be effected. In an application for change of business name a completed Form is the requirement from the CAC. However, the name of the proprietor authenticating the change of Address application must be stated.

An authentication is the authority a director/proprietor gives for the change of Address to be effected and it is done by simply writing the name and designation of the person that gave the instruction for the changes in the Company.
